Looking forward to rest of pics.
Twas a calm day!!!
Peter Bloomfield, guest driver in the 1983 3c European Championship (the Stapley in the top pic.)
It was the boat he had won the national championship in the previous year, with Phantom Evolution navigating)
Pretty sure he came second, blamed it on a change of trim gauge, if memory serves right, God did Bloomers like his set-up right!!!

Race boat went to Falmouth to compete, a couple of months later but unfortunately hit a motorway bridge.
Not a good ending.

Talk about sad, I have just pulled out, and watched the tape of that race...Pen promo was none too happy, coz it was flat, and he wanted his first national championship sooner than later!
Whatever happened to that boy?

An Unknown Taloncat.
The Cat that hit the bridge on the M5 was owned by Steve (I can't remember his Surname, Alzheimers coming on.) When I lived in Bexleyheath, he didn't live too far away from where the Taloncats were built in Sidcup. His wife was driving at the time of the incident so I was told. Oooh WHATS HIS NAME dammit!!!!!!!

Steve Perry, his wife Clare was driving whilst heavily pregnant. Strangely enough they were to divorce sometime later!
Still they came on down to Falmouth after for what had to be the best powerboat party ever, Peter Stuyvesants farewell bash.

Duncan Grant upside down. His navigator Gideon Hillman was hospitalised in this accident. Matty Brett jumped in from Miss Fitz to help them. I can't remember if it was Matty and/or Alan who couldn't swim.

Alan, unless it was scotch, then you probably couldn't keep him out of it.

Did you know 'Roland Rat' (or 'Bitter lemon' as she was also known)

Thats him!!!

I went to Brixham in '83, the race was cancelled. We all ended up on the local Go Kart Track racing under the tail of Ted Toleman's helicopter. That was fun.

Did you mean Lucy Lastic? If we're thinking of the same person.

The Margate race was also cancelled after Duncan’s spill if you remember! I was going to navigate for him at the Brixham race, a real disappointment for a 17 year old!!
