Having access to IP addresses, I would expect you to know that all sorts of "officialdom" browse this site as guests.

I'm sure they "could" have fined you, but decided to give you a warning since you're all nice young gentlemen who made a genuine mistake.

the very nice policeman said they couldn't fine us for exceeding the 6knot speedlimit because the Red Funnel ferries hammer up and down there at 35knots

I didnt say i was right or wrong, i just said i was told "no action would be taken" and they obviousely have!

a mate of mine has just attracted a private prosercution by the port authortiy its totaling £12,000 in fines and costs for what is basically speeding its on the port of tyne website under news .i would beware they only let you take the piss so much
