Very Very Nice Is it the Phantom that used to be listed on Offshoreonly that I seem to recall had raced in the OSS, although I don't recall that one having Ilmore engines in fact I don't think it had any engines at all, I must admit I thought a few times that would make a good purchase for P1 racing, will this boat be going to join P1 or perhaps do a few Marathon race events such as Cowes etc

There are 3 -39' Phantom SVs in existence. Mine is by far the lightest and fastest (by 12 mph and 500 lbs.)

I spent $30,000.00 developing the bottom of my boat. It is entirely different than the way it came out of the mold, and from the other two boats.

As I said, my boat is 7,800 lbs, fully rigged with 525s and Imco drives on extension boxes, no fuel.

My race speed set up was 104 mph with 525s. I was competitive with any other Bravo based SV. When the #6 boats came into the class with unrestricted gear ratios, we were at a disadvantage.

Thank you for the reply it certainly is a very impressive boat and I will look forward to it racing

I must admit I've always found the Phantom USA boats interesting and they had a great thing going on with the Super V lite series which the 30' Phantom speedster often dominated, I've posted pic's of them on here a few times before ... a really quick boat as they claim 102.7mph with the single Merc 525hp and that series made for good entertaining viewing

I'm assuming one of the 39' raced in the OSS V series with the 2x525hp which at one point had pretty good entry's in the US, although their did appear to be a great deal of unrest in the rules from what I'd read and of course Reggie had a pretty strong hold on the series claiming race speeds over 110+mph and setting kilo's of closing in on 120mph although I don't know what drives etc were allowed, and I gather they weighed in around 8000lbs and the 525 were more like 560's so perhaps all things were not equal within the series

I think a 39' Dragon boat also ran in the final OSS V series too, back to the Phantom they say Advanced Bottom Design, Air Lubrication System??? they don't appear to use the normal style of stepped designed hull as most other manufactures do what is Air Lubrication System if I may ask

The air lubrication system refers to the ducts that induce air on the side of the hull and feeds it into the steps. The final result is more air in the steps thus giving less friction and hopefully the desired result of more speed. If you look in the 1st pic of it on the trailer you will see the holes above the wheel arches.

There is a mention here of the Fury team's Phantom but no mention again after the start, did the Phantom break down? also the EX-Honeyparty boat is featured running pretty close to 130mph if the videos gauges are to be believed and they get Richard's name wrong confusing him with sinkers

went out for testing yeturday, as youve seen now running twin ilmor v10's at about 700bhp each, the sound is immense! the boat should be capable of about 120 when set up, few minor problems nothing fettling wont fix
