[QUOTE=BernicoX1;179396]Hey Dan, hows the new boat going? any pics?/QUOTE]

Slowly, just finishing the trailer, fits a treat but just need to finish boarding and cladding.

I aim to get working on the boat next week, got the steering, have ordered the ali for the trim tabs and a few other bits that will be turning up the tail end of this week.
I'll try and take a few pics tomorrow but only progress is the trailer.
Cheers
Dan

Well, just found a couple of pics on the phone of the progress (or lack off) so far. Been concentrating on getting the trailer made which is pretty much done. All boarded, carpetted and 90% clad.
Ran the steering hoses this weekend which fit a treat, trim tab items have started to turn up now, few gauges ordered from the states last night still need 10k Whire faced tacho).
Only pics of the trailer at the mo but chuffed to bits with it, plenty of space at the front so could take a longer hull with minor adjustment, 17" alloys (just need custom mudguards next). Sat very low, after several attempts at drawing it the one pic of the bottom on the hull on the trailers show that its fit a treat. Any how more pics as and when

Just to prove that it is coming along I rolled my own mudguards last week and very pleased with the fit. Not hung yet but you get the idea. Gauges are all in now silver faced, chrome rim with perma ble bezels but decided to do away with the carbon fibre panels here and there so have just finished tonight drawing up a few shiney bits and bobs. Progress is slower than I'd like but hay ho I am doing 99% percent of it myself from drawing up the trailer to actually rolling the mudguards, very pleased though. Just resting the mudgaurds on make it look a little more finished than it is!!

Yeah but only on my phone and they are not that great tbh.
Insides a bit of a bombsite at the mo as I have wires everywere. Until the all the cover plates come next week theres not much I can do internally. Gauges look good though, wasnt sure when they turned up but now they are in the dash the silver faced, chrome and perma blue actually look quite smart. Need a new steering wheel but its not a top priority at the moment. I have blocked the trim tab mounting off for a mo in the hope it all comes together quicker but as it happens I should have finished the hinge arrangement this week so could do with another trim pump (have 1)and rams and they can be fitted. Dana trim switch turned up today. Lots of little bits half finshed but at least I can see some progress.

Just incase you dont pick up your pm can you tell me how you mounted the backing plate to your 3 way trim gauge? I've just drawn and had made my own face plate cut which is very simular to a rex marine one (but at a fraction of the cost) but cant see how I would have enough space to mount the plate/cables behind the dash??
Did you have the cables entering drivers or passenger side?
Trim tabs look good by the way, just waiting for the beams to be cut, hinge set up looks good and they fit a treat. I'll post pics when they are coated (blue with silver cross beams) and on as they are still wip at the mo.
All in all its happening although spent 8 hrs working on it yesterday and didnt seem to acheive anything! Aimn is to have ot on the water by August.

Tim Tabs - 1st off fitting

After getting the rams last week I pushed on with making my own trim tabs and on the face of it and for a first trial fitting I'm pretty chuffed!
Excuse the bit of wood, just working out how I need to cut the link arm from tabs to ram. All from waterjet cut ali plate, drill and tapped from behind so no fixings on show. I'll cut the link arm tomorrow now I know the angle/movement I need then more than likely get them anodised (along with the mudguards) in a blue simular to the hull. It appears at long last that all the time I thought I wasted drawing stuff is finally paying off

Only one way to find out I guess, hinges are 18mm ali with 5/8" 316 pin. The actual hinges area is tucked away in the cut out and about 25mm the hull line (if that makes sense) so once up and on the plane there be well out the way. If I get a problem I'll cut longer ones (cuts upto 300mm thick) so its not biggy.

Thanks, makes it better seeing as I drew, drilled and tapped them myself although the actual hinges set up isnt quite what I had planned at first but it seems to be ok so I'll see how I go. I have already drawn a replacement hinge configuration which is all ready to go if needed.
