I was a few hundred yards behind it, the seas were 4-6's typical of the New Jersey Shore but every once in a while a really big one came in and I think it got them by surprise. I know a few caught me by surprise

There are stringers lengtwise and that is normal, but it has also stringers frome chine to chine (the opposite) way. I have learnt that it is not so clever to put stringers this way. It can tend to break at these point as a karate guy dividing a brick stone in two pieces. But the finnish boat builder and world champion racer Mice Frodé had that so what is really the best?
