There are a few others that are not shown in the History pages, Sure looks like Merlin. Surprised there are no pics of "Bartonia" very successful.
I always thought the naming convention was great Bit like Stapley and "CAT" in there somewhere. "Flying Sorcerer" was sold to north london in about 73-74 Old boy got the feline bug then. The guy was going to turn it to a ski layout. sure that was a 16 footer though.

Nice find would be Mr Unitex........

Did find the Old "Western Credit" ex 69 Round Britain Boat in 1981 was a bit rotten deck had gone and was sitting out Swindon way in a field. Well beyond any saving

Some time ago, Bill sent me some very interesting stuff on Sorcerer boats, and hull design in general. Quite a bit on the history too, I'll have a look through it later and see if there's any reference to this boat.

I had the privilege to take a ride in the 31' Phantom Sorcerer owned by Rod Juffs out in Jersey a couple of years back, the ride and pitch stability is truely awsome!

Everything to do with Phantom, they built it, to a Bill Maloney design (Bill & Steve are old friends)

Nothing like a usual Phantom tho', it's a full on sports 'cruiser'.

Some of the most amazing plug work i've ever seen.

Well it stayed in one piece after the tow home on Saturday but needs a fair bit of replacement ply before it sees water again.

I can confirm it is 12'6" and identical in design to the larger "Merlin" (15') shown on the Sorcerer site.

Jon / Glen76 if you have any info in them "papers" .. would love to know if it was built before or after "Merlin" ie: was it scaled up or down ? how many were built ?

can't find any identifing marks so far .. did they have any ?

Except that it isn't!!! I just read the accompanying text and the boat is described as a 15' Kelvin hull. 1st Production boat home in the Putney Calais race of that year. 100hp Merc. Designed in 67 by W.A.Maloney. This boat (pic I posted) was driven by John Lusted.

Very confusing
If a certain Mr Maloney designed "Merlin" in 1967 for class 111 with Sorcerer boats why would he design the same boat for "Kelvin" in the same year ??

And why would it be named 'Flying Sorcerer'?
