Oh my god!
lets put this to bed.............
I have employed the srevices of a Fully qualified Naval Architect, also a very good friend of mine, whom has designed a 23' boat for me.
Financial resources are not in abundance, so we set out to produce a few simple renderings to show to potential customers, these renderings were never going to be in great detail because of the time and cost of doing so.
Building a hull/deck plug is not an easy process, accuracy is of great importance if the boat is to look/perform right. whilst building the plugs you come up against getting the right look very often, small changes are often made to get the best look.
At this stage if i were to redesign the moulded screen it would drastically change the look of the boat, the passengers sat in the rear would have the screen up around their ears and it would detract any emphasis on the rear styling.ie the 3 headrest pods that form part of the aft deck.
when the boat is finished it will look beautifull, and i do understand that some may not like certain aspects of it, but thats the way of the world!

heres a comparison, note the increase in height of the front part of the screen (A)to acheive anything like whats been mentioned.........
IMHO (B) looks far more suited and sleek........

Those CAD images that Gav posted are shite! I think anyone should go a see the plug of the deck in the flesh. I have viewed it recently I really like the way it looks. Ross I think you should pay Gav a visit and take a look at the deck itself because it looks a lot better in the flesh than on a CAD image.
Ross give the man a break! With 355BHP on the back who cares what the screen looks like?

If it's that easy... you do it. I think Gav's made his feelings clear.. don't beat it to death.

Hey Puppies, I think your forgetting that your purchasing a finished product, from an artists impression. If you had commissioned the boat from scratch, I'm sure Gave would be happy to oblige, but you haven't, so your just going to have to accept what he thinks is correct.

Ross, how is it very little to change?
You should come and see the plugs, then maybe you will change your mind....

I like 'B' - but then I've always preferred blue boats to red ones.

Design is a very subjective issue I believe you are missing the point, the overall design of the boat was to be something different, I don't wish to simply emulate. Your modification looks pleasing I would agree but as you are aware the screen was changed from these early renderings. Also there is function built into the design (overlooked commonly today) and using the boat you will soon understand the thinking behind the overall design package.

I voted for 'B'. The rear pods are very distinctive & I think the 'B' screen style complements them. Someone made the comment that 'A' was best as that's what everybody else does.
I like 'B' precisely because it's a bit fresh. If you really like the 'Phantom' look there are lots of people still making similar; buy one of those.
Then again, what do I know; I own a Fletcher!
Go for it Gav!
