on that particular picture it looks ok, but if i were to add that style to the plug it would look
If i wanted to replicate a ring or phantom style then i would, as it happens i have not............sorry to dissapoint!

'B' is reminicent of some of the US sports boats, particularly the Sea Ray Pachanga 32.
I voted 'A', but then I'm an old stick in the mud.

I reckon I'll get over it.
We'll have to see.
Nice try 'Puppiesbits'....Seeee told ya, The Designer knows best!!??
Apparantly!!!!......
And everybody else is clearly wrong.....idiots!!
Let me get this straight.....looks like a Ring/Phantom????
I'm confused!!!
1. The front of the Hull / chines look nuffin like.
2. The transome is looks nuffin like.
3. The rear deck looks nuffin like.
4. Apparantly the dash will look nuffin like.
5. The 700 is 7'+ wide, a similar Phantom is 6' wide.
6. No hull step in the Phantom.
Cuddy cabin etc. etc.
Need I go on!!....
To me it seems there is little similarity at all.
1. So why, by changing the screen does this make it look Phantom/ring like????
2. And why would a longer sleeker screen not suit the plug????

Ross, I actually think you're being a bit of an arse here. afterall it is Gavs design/boat. Had i known the 'which do you prefer?' was actually 'side with me so i can try and tell Gav to redesign his deck' .................... I'd not have commented in the 1st place.

Captain i spoke to Gav on MSN before and he was fine with the idea of putting it on the forum to ask other peoples views,
i think its a good idea having people tell you what they like/prefer because at the end of the day to sell a boat you have to make something that people like the look of

No you diddnt understand, what he was saying is that it takes more than the screen to make it look like a phantom if everything else is different

Is it possable as a solution to this problem to offer both a&b types, this also allows for a larger market a bit like offering inboard and outboard versions, perhaps the more variables and customed on offer, the greater the chance of a sale

“Opinions are like arseholes…everyone’s got one.” Is the expression that springs to mind here.
Style and shape are probably the most contentious issues when it comes to design of any craft/car/bike…. You name it. What some people love, some will hate. It’s the way it is… personally I think my ‘bike is beautiful… but most people think it’s Butt ugly… hasn’t stopped it being a No 1 seller though….

No, I'll think you find my understanding is just fine, thanks. All Gav said was that he didn't want to emulate/copy the screen style of a Phantom/Ring... nothing else.

Feck' me... it's confusing enough to those poor boatbuilders when they have to offer a choice of colours.. let alone anything else.... too many choices and their brains will simply explode...
