That looks like the Cheetah cat, 'Great Adventure' that we raced against in the UAE years ago.

Nasty!

did they survive?

Yeah, but I am talking about 1993, but even so, it was amazing When we first saw the size of it, initial thoughts where, 'No Problem' can't possibly be competitive, back then, it only ran about 95mph, against our max of 111mph, but as soon as it chopped up at all, our 25 footer felt very small next to it!

Very unusual bottom on that cat, which you can just make out in a couple of the pics, and is how I reccongised it as a cheetah.

Virtually no deadrise at all on 'fast' inner running surfaces, large chip chine, then increadibly steep deadrise on outer section of sponson.

And yes, it did look very light in the water, extremely bouyant.

Heard they recently built another one using the lines of the old boat. There is a 10-meter rule. If you look at that and the original boat the first boat was much fuller in the body section that was a cut down version

I looked at the pictures if that is the same boat the sides have been massively reworked and deck lowered somehow! The clue would be I use a heavy green tint in my lamination and that boat was a nasty brown.

The last I saw it was 95 or 96 and they had just lopped 3 feet off the sponsors in the front to make the class looked horrible like it ran into a wall.

Anyway a phone call would of saved a lot of problems! Example I only use full bulkheads and the hull connection is a “planned event” with extra lamination and filleting

I hope everyone was all right and will call and check Best regards Guys

How ya doing Steve?

Thanks for the info re: 'Great Adventure'.

I see that the griping still never stops over on the US sites!! It always seems to the fellas with no idea about boatbuilding, that do all the bitching and abuse too! If only they knew how much work it was to get to the point where you start rigging!!

Don´t remind me....
My dad used to build boats but as he´s also a goldsmith it ends in our family with nitpicking the details.
Sunday I sawed off the Deck of my Sleek as it need reinforcing here and there.
Here we go again!

Steve Nice to see you even here...
Sheet me thinks you ought to relocate to Europe and leave them countryfellowmen arguing Lets start Sioux Powerbopats here !
