The dearest (greediest) of the south coast marinas, are charging circa £1.25/litre. That, for Mr Waybomb, is about $9.25/US gallon (smaller than ours by about 0.6 litres) so one imperial gallon is about $10.80
So, to fill your Cougar here in a marina, would cost $3052
Which is why I've historically run a diesel boat, as diesel, until just a couple of years ago, was well under $2.00/US gallon, and a circa 300hp diesel motor, will not exceed a consumption of more than 18US gallons/hour (flat out) so historically, it really was 'no contest'.
