2.5 280 ecu break in mode

Reading on the Midas Project Blufin was having problems with the break in mode on the 2.5 280 the same as me but there is no conclusion just that it was out of break in mode he mentioned 40 hours can anyone enlighten me on this.

What's the problem ? The break in mode is dictated by the ecu if the engine is new or it's a new ecu. If you have a DDT it will tell you how many hours of breakin left

The engine not new it's a 2001 it's only done about 36 hours from new, don't think the DDT tells you how long but might be wrong will try it , as I said above blufin had the same problem and said about 40 hours just want to know if this is true . Thanks Lloyd

So it's not a fixed amount of time it restricts based on how the engine has been used for the initial break in period which the ecu decides.

280's first started coming with top pins in 2001 . I have the serial number that the first one started having them installed down in the shop .. If you need it I will forward it..

After alot of playing around and plugging the DDT in alot of times which was not conclusive we decided to change the water pressure sensor and took it out tonight now no alarm all fixed we got 70.6mph on the gps at 6,600 with a 24 chopper , 4 up and 180 ltrs of fuel big thanks to rich (driver 510) for sorting out the problem
