Did you get some crew sorted for the French trip?

Have a good one

We are clearly a couple of loosers Johnny.

How do you fancy joint platinum membership of Seastart? We could get our own dedicated rescue boat fully loaded with Steyr/Evinrude parts.

Yeah it's a monster! Baja 40 Outlaw with triple 575 SCI's can't wait to get it back here and show you pansies what a real boat looks like.

My mate in the states called me up about it at the weekend, and I just had to buy it. Just sorting out the shipping now, but it will definitely be here before the weather warms up.

No pictures just yet, but when my mate gets his email fixed he's sending me a load over and don't worry I'll have lots to show you.

You guys are going to be sick with envy when you see it.

Think you have to remember with both merc and evilrudes you need dealer equipment for servicing so they got you by the balls unless you know someone with software. The uk support for evinrude is usless at the moment 4 week waits on service items if i had to choose id go for the merc least you know you can get the parts.

By the way the Honda has three seperate electrical systems and mechanically any model you buy now will not break down. early units inccured problems as they had to iron out a few development issues but all were covered and recalled and modded to current spec providing they were dealer serviced.

Thanks for the reply.

We were tempted by the Merc, but in the end we went for the Rude 250 Etec. It doesn't need a service for 3 years, or 300 hours, so hopefully the dealers should have their act together by then. The engine arrived last week and has been fitted on the boat. Scorpion are sea trialing her tomorrow. Time will tell if it was the right choice... BTW this engine is 55 kgs lighter than a Verado - that's one heavy lump.

In February this year we shared your opinions on Honda outboards, which is why we chose the BF225 - rock solid reliability, 5 year warranty and all that. It did 120 hours, with full dealer service history. It broke down three times.

Such is life.

Regards

Brambles.
