American trailer question.

American trailer hitches are 2", UK hitches are 50mm.

Are the ball hitches the same shape, or are american ones different?

(Can i safely tow an american trailer on a UK ball hitch?)

A trailer for a boat of that size will probably have a 2 5/16ths ball.

I towed a yank trailer with 60mm ball for two years no probs but used a chain as well. i think the braking systems are the biggest prob being hydraulic there not legal in the uk. not legal but can be done but changing the coupling on the trailer is the best bet
