Batteries!
I'm about to start the re-wire and re-rig of my Ring 21, and I need a battery and a battery mount. Any recommendations? The boat will be used for leisure/basic racing, and apart from starting the motor it'll need to be suitable for running a small stereo while we're sunbathing in Herm

Hi Paul,
Its worth paying a bit extra and get a GEL battery, completely water proof and they seem to take more of a battering and still work compared to normal lead acid jobbies

battery
Hi Paul
I use a EXIDE MAXXIMA 900 on my RING21E/250XS for years without any problem. Light 17kg, and 900amp, no problem.
But Optima batteries are good also, a bit more expensive than EXIDE ones.
My battery bracket is from REX MARINE, composite non conductive and Stainless steel, strong and light.
But if you are looking for a custom one for Optima, go to EDDIE marine.

Would there be a problem running a larger capacity battery on the standard charging system?
