big motor with economy
What sort of size motor can you go up to without getting the running costs of a v6 or paying loads for a new 4-stroke?
Really need to find something that would be suitable for a p21 but not too bad to run.
Cheers, Max

It's gonna be limited use anyway seein that I'm not 16 for another 12 days!
If an xr2 popped up soon I'd look into it because I want something decent to run in a couple of months.

lol, i would if there wasn't a p21 within sight!
I asked Dad today if he reckoned the Picton would run alright in the Poker Run with a 90 but he didn't agree!
biggest we ever had on that was 75 but I'd at least give a 150 a shot for a laugh!
I think he's just mellowing out in his old age!

You'd have the only Picton 14 capable of vertical take-off. The Navy might buy it off you!

It'd certainly be the first 80mph picton with involuntary detachable transom!

If you are looking for something for the 21' got to be an XR2 cheap as chips loads of 2nd user bits about.
save ya pennies & spend as little as possible stick with something around the 50-70 mark, anything else puts it so far out of wack you will be spending for the sake of it, and your never use the extra ponies.

Would be nice but really aren't sure about the running costs, would only be able to manage a day out very couple of weeks, but then again a phantom isn't exactly a sensible boat! and any motor much smaller wouldn't really have the same effect!

I think I peed off the Mercury rep at the boat show. He heard me remarking to my mate that I quite fancied the little 4hp outboard they do as it'd make my cappucinos nice and frothy.

Got an XR2 powerhead in the workshop - and I think Frenzy was selling an offshore leg - just the covers from Gav and you've got a motor!
