Bleeding Mayfair ram & Seastar helm... Help needed!!

Trying to bleed up my steering system, it's a single Mayfair side ram, and a Seastar standard 1000psi 2.4cu.in helm.

With the filler tube connected, and fluid in the bottle suspended from the ceiling above the helm, we can get it to work perfectly. Zero play throughout the rams travel, however the fluid level rises and falls slightly in the filler bottle due to the unbalanced ram. When the filler is removed and the cap put back on, play develops in the ram as the steering is moved back and forth. We tried putting the cap back on with the helm full and the ram fully open (full lock left), but as I turn right it just forces fluid out the filler cap seal, air must get back in and the play in the ram comes back... What's the solution?! It's driving me mental!!!

Cheers for any help, need to get this sorted asap and get testing!!

Dig around in the teleflex website.
I have a hynautic system on my wifes boat. To bleed air, have to turn the wheel something like 56 revolutions one way. Then the other.
Found the instructions on the teleflex site

She has a 1987 36 Carver Mariner that we have been working on for the last couple of months. On my photobucket pages, you can see what it looked like before we bought it, and how far we've gotten it.

It was sitting uncovered for 10 years. Can't hardly tell now.

Steering is fine now. I thought we'd manage to seal the tank but it's leaking again pretty badly now, I have a mate who works at an aero engineering place that's getting me some 2 part sealant which will apparently stick to the hypalon so we'll try that before getting a new one.

Took it out in some light chop on Sunday, it's chinewalking really badly around 55mph, so much I have to lift off. That was running a 13.75 x 27p Ballistic 4 blader, and the prop shaft around 2" below the keel. I have a 26p Trophy to try, and we pulled the motor off last night to move the holes up so we can lift the motor. Where the holes were before we could only run it at that 2" below.

Apart from the chinewalking it seemed to go well, wasn't at all flightly, but we'll see when we get it going quicker!
