nah i didnt mean about your thoughts on setback more about when you have setback you have to mount engine higher to have same effect as running with it sat on transom

Im only runnin 6" setback coz thats how far me jack plate is setback. Ive heard about wot burtys saying before but not really been told about it in depth before! my jack plate is manual so i cant adjust it when moving! any help is appreciated jon!

Funny boats are just like fasion , it will always come back into style.
Alf Bullen and others always ran setbacks & out- riggers in the 70's "Slipstream" & "wicked alf" are two boats that spring to mind. There was then a trend to go back on to the transom for a fair number of years and here we are with setback & out-riggers again.
Let me take a stab at the next thing to happen............
Mounting back on the transom maybe

Edit: actually make that an inbuilt Hydraulic transom
