boss 18ft
Ive got a 21ft boss which ive had from new about 1994 which was the last one built(One of the best alround boats Ive owned), the 18ft was a shortened 21ft and was made to race in ocr I think!
I saw a couple of them in nicks workshop and they certainly looked good.
The 18ft was built around 93/94 with only a few ever made so quite rare boat but not sure how they went,Im sure someone on here raced against one!
Nick would give you the complete story.

Barry Culver (not sure what his name on here is?) has had an 18' with a V6 for many years.
I last went in it a couple of years ago with Barry and Nik.

From memory there were only 6 - 8 18' Boss boats built.
If history can give you any bench mark, a guy called Kevin James ran one in OCR running an XR2 and finished 4th in the 1990 championship (with a field of 12 - 14)- which I believe is now the boat Barry Culver owns.
Out of interest, what colour is the boat for sale on Guernsey?

boss18
that red one could be malcolm dunderdale's boat ..i wondered where it went.
i've got kevin jones's old ocr racer .
mine definately wont be sold...brilliant boat.
bridge marine in shepperton built 4 of the 18 footer for nik keyser [boss marine] and 20 of the 21footers [more 21's were also built by other laminators]
my old 21 is still owned by a mate. if you race them side by side[same engine/setup] in flattish water the 18 is marginally faster.
the 18 with a 200merc will do approx 70 mph. with a blueprinted xr2 kevin jones had 75mph.
buy it while you can - pm me any setup questions...

Okay bin up to see it it has a nice black and red paintjob hull is in good condition no cracks etc, its got a wierd step in the back of the hull, and real nice interior trim, im tempted to buy it. Can anyone tell me if the boss boats have this unusual feature at the back?

originally it went for 2k with no engine, it had just been really nicely resprayed and all the interior was mint and was on a good trailer, it was then left in a field for a year or two and sold to another bloke who is now doing it up this winter, i could have made him an offer on it but iv decided to get a decent 18ft phantom now.
cheers
