Captain Conk-out

Ladies,

Last couple of times out......my trusty merc has had a severe case of PMT....and its started to feck me off!!! This week I got really fecked off when I headed out of the 8 knot restriction for some cockbiscuit to go meanderring passwed be in some shite genmar tub giving-it large coz he done me with his 3.0L alpha......proceeding to floor it....I only just (with a very red face) managed to pass him.

So after stamping my feet...I decided sommink was deffo wrong.....Got back to shore and had a peek........Of course i tried just kicking it hard....but my tried&tested technique failed on this occaision........And then bingo....turns out oone of the leads from mainbox to ign coils had been working its way loose for quite a while...........It hasnt quite cured my poor idle problem....but she again runs like a dream.........

...to complete my fun....said cockbiscuit taps me on the shoulder and (gritting his teeth somewhat) says "goes well dont she?"....to which i reply "yeh, even better on 6 cylinders".....but being a nobber he had to come back for more....this time....i trimmed all but a postage stamp out and hosed him down......much fun indeed.

Now this was supposed to be Tech-Q, but i got carried away on some tangent!!!!!

Q - Those 3.4L cosworth mercs........are the powerheads a totally cosworth design?......just theres one for sale on ebay with a "normal" merc cowl....and its always just seemed such an odd combo to me..........big yank firm + wickle blighty mob!!!

I'm sure i've asked this before....but where they a flop?

Yep, they were built in a performance form called the T4 to compete in F1 but omc kicked up about homoligation rules as there were less than 1000 units built.
The standard 3.4's are dogs I'm told, if your lookin for a monster, 300 promax!

Here's a T4...
