All i could see was a dribble coming out. I would not even run it.
Have you replaced the impeller?

Hi Bandit, It does get better with a few revs and as you can see from the gauge, there's good pressure.

Please note, on the last pass (Pass 7) the engine warning sounded and I shut down, till water pressure built back up.

The guys with the phantoms will know much more i'm sure.
When you run the engine on tick over the water coming from the top should be pouring out like a tap.
Don't always believe a gauge.

Hi Bamdit,

Forgive me for being dumb but what could the problem be? when the mechanic fired it up, he said nothing about it. There was a new impeller fitted, when the shaft was changed. Could there be a blockage somewhere? when I blow into the pee hole (no clever comments thanks) it seems clear.

Hi all,

Slight change to the first few videos. worked it out now and have all on there, as below. Fitted new impeller when changed shaft, pressure gauge shows good pressure, raising with revs till about 40 MPH then drops with speed. Revs were at around 5600 RPM when top speed reached at WOT. Engine alarm came on, during run # 7 so shut down and waited for pressure to build up.

I'm lost for ideas now. I can understand needing the nose cone / CLE box, for the water pressure but where has the speed gone, why, how, Sh*t.
I'm sure that there are many amongst you all, that can say exactly what and why. Please do. PS.. Please be gentle, with the comments about my driving, if that's what it's called.

Unfortunatly i'm no mechanic. When the boat is in the water on tickover there should be good presure from the water jet. When the revs increase while in neutral the presure should increase. A good example is that of a jet ski when you see the water jet shoot about 10 foot in the air.

Dude, i would expect to have to trim right in to get out the hole. As for pressure i have already said that i dont get any wayer out of the tell tails on tick over. Are you sure you have the pick up pipe the right length and located and sealed correctly up through the leg??

You seem to be chucking alot of water in the air. How far are you trimming it out?

Hi Burty,

As far as I know, yes the pipe is correct. I cut it, the difference between the two legs and cleaned the rough edges. I appeared to go in ok, when I fitted the leg. Would I be getting nearly 10 psi on tickover, if the pipe was not correct?

Hi Johnny,

Going by the electric trim, I wasn't that far up from level. I did try less trim but it was up and down like a yoyo.

have you got a picture of the boat on trailer with motor trimmed level? that way we might be able to see the height of water pickups
It could be that as your spped increases more of the boat lifts out of the water thus lifting engine higher and higher.

Burty's motor is different as it has no thermostats. Aa far as I know your motor should have water out of the tell tail at idle but not untill its heated up and the stats have opened. It possible that at idle it doesnt get that hot and so the stats don't open far. That could explain why you don't get much water out and the water pressure is quite high at 10PSI. I'm just guessing here as my motor has no stats and so like Burty's has very little water pressure at idle.
