Arrow Cougar 27 hull effeciency?

Hi all,
Can anyone give me a rough guide to how much more efficient a stepped hull is over a normal V-hull?
Are we talkin 10 or 20%??
Thanks,
Barry

According to the attached article steps give 10-15% more speed, however I am no expert. I suspect the Cougar 27 hulls are relativly efficent as not many 27ft boats do 70mph with the lump of a Honda 225hp four stoke on the back. Daze on here recently fitted a Merc 200hp engine and reconed good for 75mph because of lighter engine and sorter shaft.
