Does somebody know this gearbox

Hello,
Found this gearbox in my basement, but dont know from which engine
it is. Can somebody help me??

Looks very similar to a Merc 1250 BP gearcase post some more pics.

Tony, that's the later leg version, I think his is the wide super leg version like in this pic

It looks very much like the type we used to use on the old ON class 2litre unlimited cats.
But I could be wrong as havn't seen one in 26 years.
