Ok, but did you retrofit the TRP gearbox or was it a complete original TRP Yamaha outboard ?
I got the info of a shorter mid from this link http://www.bassboatcentral.com/trpsetup.htm

Now that I've re-read this thread, I believe 'Hydrostream' meant the Mercury Duece having a shorter mid. In my answer however I say the Yammie TRP has a 2" shorter mid, based on the info of bassboatcentral. To be honest every TRP i've seen in pictures seems to have a rather normal 20" mid. I've also read somewhere the TRP lower unit can be retrofitted on every Yammie 2.6l engine and it could handle higher hp and torque as the 150hp.

Now Bob, what's important is that you had one !! Could you share your first hand experience with it ? Was it any good on a OCR or F3 ?
Very curious about this, having a 2.6l Yammie V6 200hp myself...

Greets, T.

My was a genuine TRP, now owned by Adam Younger. I think possibly that the gearcase was not as high (space between top and cav plate) It is a very good setup but seemed very over propped on our 7.4m Valliant and smaller props too expensive. I did also run it on my OCR boat with a Yam V4 (small hub) gearbox so they are all interchangeable !! I always thought it needed more horse power so certainly worth a try on a 200 or 225 !!
