Question Dyno readings

Anybody know what units the readings are in.
If not in HP, what's the conversion formula?

Dynos usually shows their readings in PSI, the conversion varies from model to model. A good Computer controlled Dyno will include many different factors in its convertet result of Kilowatt ( HP ) and Newtonmeters.

Land & Sea should make some of the best for marine engine testing:

The DYNOmite’s computer records the resultant torque at the absorber’s housing (along with the RPM) to calculate: Hp = Torque (in foot pounds) x RPM / 5,252.

Been doing some homework on this as I have just aquired one !! It is basically loading the engine with a water pump and measuring the Torque in lb's Ft !!

Bob

PS If you have a readout that is not making sense, it has probably had the wrong parameters put in the setup.
