Engine Stand ?? Work Stand??

Hello
i have to take of my v6 powerhead on the next weekend, will it fit on an regular v8 enginestand to work on ?

most pictures i see, they lay around the workbench..... and thats not my way to work with fun on it.

what do you guys use ?

with gears for horizontal and vertical rotation like on a milling machine,
it will be on my next christmass wish list

I use an old driveshaft cutdown & welded to a bracket. This one shown with a '64 Merc 500 rebuild on it (original Merc tool in this case) but you get the picture. Clearly a V6 probably wont sit in a vice!

the engine stand do work perfect for this little 6 banger sucker,compared to the 10,2 liter 980hp engine and my 3 girls what was on before.
all the holes on the base plate did align with 4 studs ,slightly out of center but fine to work on .
