Smile Evinrude 40hp 1985

Hi there,

I have an evinrude 40hp 1985 on a teal 22 but it's a bit under powered, I wondered if there where any mods I could do to get her planing I can't really afford another engine , also I'm led to believe that this is the same engine as the 60 just with a different intake manifold and carbs?

any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jack

Evinrude

New carbs intake will give you something and you could get a little from a bit more compression (but be very careful here!)

There are many similarities between the engines. but the blocks and pistons are different, cranks the same, so you probably need to know what the parts contribute to the power by trawling the parts books;

BRP -- Parts Catalogs

If you need a lot of power an exchange will turn out cheaper to do some exchange?
