how to make length adjustable front seats ?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to make my front seats adjustable, so different drivers can choose their optimal seating position

Rather than drilling different holes in the bottom of the seats or hull, I'm thinking of a robust slide mount system.

How is it done on your boat ?
Any advice if something alike allready exist is welcome.

Thanks and kind regards,
T.

Thx ! What do you guys have ? Any pictures or any specific must-have slide mount system ? Or some types that are really NOK ?
Installation will probably be for next year, so I have some to choose a good type.

Sorry Neppo, I mist your reply. Post or PM me some pics pls.
I'm looking for a good system which doesn't add much height...

Thanks Stefan, but they are too high for my taste.
I'd like something as low as possible.

I like these :

http://www.crowderscustomizing.com/N...rg_sbr-001.htm
www.sparcousa.com/product/track-set
http://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac-...ats-p1725.aspx

don't know if they are any good or where to buy them really... think I go for a car shop

Seats Alternatives

Hi Toffy,
Here there is a link for a similar product to your SPARCO USA slides.
http://www.oreca-store.com/glissiere...e-qualite.html
http://www.oreca-store.com/le-vehicule/baquets
Under the web page, you have some seats support options.
http://www.oreca-store.com/baquet-sp...cuir-noir.html
You, also can find some good light bucket seats, kevlar/grp,hi-density foam for some comfort, covered with black vinyl. Regular size, or XL for strong pilots

We used a set of These in a leisure application in a Phantom 19 and put extra support underneath the seat - the lowest profile we could find.

Hi everyone,

I further explored Cookee's option. Brand of this slider "Zwaardvis", German supplier.
http://www.poertner-zwaardvis.de/en/...ders/64210.php
http://www.poertner-zwaardvis.de/en/...ders/64220.php
The one with the lever at the front is more expensive and seems more robust and only 30mm high.

I think I'm gonna choose between this one or the Sparco slider, as they both lock on both slidingrails.
If you guys have comments or other must-have seat sliders feel free to comment.

T.

It seems that there are 3 large suppliers of carseat sliders :
Sparco : http://racing-seats-usa.com/493.html
Corbeau : http://racing-seats-usa.com/codolosl.html
Recaro : http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/...-sliders-00493

And unless I'm mistaken made out of steel which will last one season (possibly) before rusting!

You are 100% right. But it's coated, slider parts wel oiled, I never go on salt waters, and I plan to do regular checks and maintenance. If you have a SS alternative that's as low as this one, feel free to post it, so I can upgrade in a few years.

If you look up I already posted an aluminium one that we fitted to a Phantom and is still working great in a salt water environment after several years.

I thoroughly explored that option, found and posted an even lower and better model of that brand. But I didn't trust the robustness of that aluminium type slider (I could be wrong about that off course), didn't find a SS alternative and chose the Sparco. I'll see how it behaves.
