Hydrolic Lifter
Hi people.
My name is Jack and I live in Guernsey. My current boatis a Ring 21c with a Merc 225 optimax, I am using a hydrolic lifter on this boat. I am changing hull to a P21 and was wondering if anyone had any experience of a lifter on a Phantom as I have heard mixed reports. It sets the motor back about 40cm which is a fair amount compared to most lifters. Do you think this would improve the P21 or is it not worth using it? If not is anyone interested in buying it off me?
Jack

General conclusion from lots of people trying is that the Phantoms run best with the motor on the transom, I'd imagine it'd be horrendous with that amount of setback on a Phantom.
What you've got is a Gill bracket/Lifter in one, ideal for anyone with a Ring, stick some pictures of it in the trading post and I'm sure it won't hang about, it's a lovely bit of kit!

Cheers James Ill take a few pictures of it and put it up. Its not something I really wanted to get rid of because it is such a good looking thing but if I have no use for it someone else is better of taking it and me having a bit of extra cash to run the RS6

I've got a "lifter" on the back of my 19. The CoG is adjusted to suit.
It works okay for me.

Adjusting the COG is the critical factor

We have a Gorilla hydraulic lifter on The Mutz Nuts (P20) which also works very well with COG adjusted to suit.
The Gorilla only has around 4-1/2" of setback mind.

It was a tounge in cheek comment relating to the setback of your lifter compared to the 40cm of setback on Jack's. What I was getting at is that yours may well work with a relatively low setback of (I'd imagine) about 5", whereas Jack's would likely be way ott for a P21 with 40cm of setback!
As per usual my amazing wit fell flat on it's face

Ha ha, it does look amusing (and awesome!) in the water on the ring, like the motor's nothing to do with the boat and just floating about on it's own!
