Information on a 18ft Phantom

Hi Guys

Can anyone tell me the standard height of a transem on a late 80's 18ft phantom from the factory, as I have got a 225 on the back (I know its a bit overpowered) running a 24 chopper prop, its cavatating slightly, but goes like feck!!

Had to put strengheners on from transem to stringers, but still think the engine is too high, any ideas? Can I cut it away? (Not sure it thats already been done)

Cheers

Ian

Can you post a pic of the transom with the motor tilted down?

Hi Dai

Thanks for posting your reply.

Unable to send a pic at the moment. Just need to know what the standard height should be of the transem. I will be able to do the rest.

Regards

Ian

I would expect it to be longshaft (20"-22"), but someone may have 'modified' it, so a pic would be good to see the set-up.
What mid-section does your motor have and where's the cav plate relative to the underside of the hull, when the motor is vertical?
