johnson 140 rev counter???

hi guys not long had my phanton 18 long and looking to fit some gauges to it, i have got hold off a load off second hand vdo gauges and looking for the wires to run the tachometer,i have 3 wires at the gear control that are not being used could this be the ones i need? any help would be great guys
