Wondering if any of you guys have any experience with the 6.5 Optimizer engine used in the UK. I am interested in a repower in the US. Not much of a track record here for this engine. It seems like a great concept using a supercharger instead of turbo.

That engine was dveloped by Andreas at marine diesel in sweden, I understand they supply the marinizing/supercharging parts back to the US so motors can be built there.

The motor itself is of course from AM General, the company that builds the Hummer (H1)

I run a pair of turbo 6.5's in my boat, they are 325hp

the blower version is still pretty rare here, but a single 410hp unit from sweden should be on the water in the next few months in a Mannerfelt B28 (Batboat)
