Question Mariner Magnum EFI 2.5L V6 1998?

Looking at this engine, seems to be well looked after etc, auto lube removed. After my research online it seems this is a well proven engine. What I can not figure out is exactly is what the magnum bit is/means? And also, is this an engine you can run above recommended max rpms without mods? What would be the max as stock? And any known "fault"/weak spots?
Greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
