Matt and LPG

Matt how did you get on with your lpg research, did it turn out to be cost effective and readily available enough to do?

thanks matt

wow alot of info i dont think anyone could accuse you of not looking into it in depth... I wasnt actually looking at it for my bot as she will be up for sale soon but it was for a big 8ltr v8 powered boat.. sounds like probably not that great an idea then. Shame in theory it sounds great at a glance but id always be concerned with lpg availabilty issues.... apparently theyre gonna increase tax on road lpg also in the not to distant future

If anybody still wants to discuss lpg let me know! I had a conversion done. BTW, there is no need for a closed cooling system at all. My conversion was a V8 and the tank capacity was 160 useable litres. It was less fuel efficnet than petrol by about 15% - but the cost was appeciably less. Initial cost of conversion was high £3,200. I was a heavy user and even after 3 years had not quite broken into the black. I know a boat that runs twin 7.4's on lpg and does show a real saving!

My diesel supplier is talking about doing petrol in the future? I'll let you know if he does!

6) The tanks are steel. Heavy and can rust.
