Maxum MX1800 -Merc 3Litre

Hi All
Picked up new MAxum MX1800 with Merc 3Litre last April and have about 100 hours on it now. Went to top op the gear lube the other day and noticed about a 1/4 inch of "white stuff.." in bottom of resovoir tank. Drained about eggcup
full of oil from gearbox which seemed to be OK.
Any ideas ? is it something I need to worry about. PS: no hits or damage to gearbox or prop.
