Merc 200 on cable teleflex - am I clinically insane??

Will a single cable based steering system fail if attached to 200 Merc? Used to use it on an older 150 Merc without issue. Just wanted to canvass opinion as it's £1k to upgrade.

If one cable snaps you may wear your boat as a hat.

Hi, Single cable is pushing it on a 200, i would at least look at a twin cable setup or push the boat out and go Seastar hyd.
I once had a cable snap on an 80hp rigged on a warrior and that was not nice, very glad it had seats or i would have been swimming!!

It works if you have a fresh kit rated for 235 hp. But i wouldn´t recommend it...
