Merc glow plug controller problem

Hi,
I have a Merc D3.6l diesel and the glow plug controller and power relays have failed. Does anyone know a reasonable priced supplier in the Uk please?
I was starting it at the end of last season by applying 12v direct to glow plug buzz bar when cold, but want to replace relays before its back on the water this season.
The existing controller relay fitted is a Stribel ( I think) 89-9188, Made in Germany (Mercruiser part code 801334306).
The Power Relay is a Bosch 0-332-002-172 power relay (Mercruiser part code 801334299).
But the controller is over 100 quid from merc.

Cheers

Nick

Yes , some US websites do say that, but part numbers are still current and available. I have checked at local dealers.

In case anyone is still looking and stumbles on this thread...

JG Supplies do an own brand replacement on ebay, but if you can get hold of the MerCruiser / Quicksilver part then all the better.

"PRE HEAT RELAY TO FIT MERCRUISER ~ BMW
OEM Part Number: 801334306 Replaced With Our Part Number 420"

Although they don't quote the pre-glow / post glow timings.

Watch out - There are many relays that are plug compatible, but have slightly different timings. The effect of a longer post glow may reduce the life of your glow plugs. Modern plugs (Bosch Duraterm etc) are more resilient to longer post glow times.

Link on ebay at the time of posting is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=370350134387.

Safest option remains to get the MerCruser part from Eric / Mrs Smillie.
