merc trim pumps

Out of interest, will a Merc inboard trim pump of a 70Hp (with old twin ram type) work with single cylinder V6 ram?

yes it will work but you will have 2 extra hose fittings that need to be plugged
on the old F1 trim motors they used that old style inline trim motor with 2 fittings only
