Mercury ignition feed....

Does anyone know what colour wire is the live ignition wire (i.e only live when the ignition is turned on) that exits the barrel in my quicksilver control box?

Its an early nineties 3 cylinder 90hp Mercury.

i think its the purple,
could be wronge, thats what it is on the V6's

Yup, it's purple.

Red/Purple stripe is the permanent live to the ignition switch.

Yellow/Red stripe = starter

Grey = Tacho

It covers "70 (3 cyl) Above Serial No. A719280 THRU 90 (3 cyl)"
