mercury trim gauge advice needed
hi all!
ive just bought a mercury trim gauge off ebay,before it arrives has anyone ever fitted one of these.some help or advice would be useful.do you need anything else to go with it or does it plug into engine loom and then work???

I fitted/replaced one of these a few years ago.
Can't remember, but I'll have a "buchers" in the morning to see what the wiring does.
One point of advise, coat the sender fixing bolts with greese otherwise you'll never get the feckers out again!

There should be a sender in the midsection. It will have two wires. It should go:
1. +12v to gauge.
2. Gauge sender output to either of the sender wires (doesn't matter which).
3. Other sender wire either back to the 'gauge -ve' or to the 'battery -ve' or to an earth, the engine block for example.

OK, I'll hold short of suggesting vaseline - Zinc chromate paste was a genuine suggestion though.
