Old Quicksilver 2stroke oil
Hi all,
a wee question ?
I found 2 containers of old ( 10 > 15 year old ?? ) Quicksilver Premium Blend 2stroke oil in the "boat house", one opened & one still sealed,
would either be OK to use in my 1976/77 Merc 500 ?

Keep the unopened one Austin, you can keep it with the original plugs in your motor!

I'd feel OK with the sealed container but the opened one I'd have issues about outside contamination.

Is the oil TCW-II or TCW-III? I have experienced the TCW-II 'gelling' and thus gundging everything up - so if it's a 'II' I'd keep as a souvenir. If you got 'III's then the sealed one will be fine but as Jay sais avoid the opened one.

oil is cheaper than an engine so if it were mine I would bin it.
