P18 Towing weight

Hi, first post to the forum but been watchin and larfin from the sidelines for some time.

Lookin for a new car/4x4 but wanna make sure its got enough pullin power.

Can anyone give me some idea of the weight of my Phantom. Its a P18 but measures out at 20ft long (18exl).

If anyone has researched the towing weight of boat, trailer, full tank o fuel etc I would be grateful for the info.

Thanks
Daren

Firstly, welcome to Boatmad mate.
I have a P18 (see profile for details), I had a Sierra 2.9 4x4 as a tow barge for donkeys, but now I have a Skoda Octavia 1.8T 4x4 estate, can't tell the boat was/is behind with either car!
One point of advice here amigo, don't tow with a full load of fuel, if something goes wrong (fully loaded) it goes wrong Big Time!!! Far better to fuel-up where your 'gunna' launch.
Why the hell you got a "donkey" engine on the back ?????Get rid of it, your not doing the Fast Phantom image alot of good here! Or maybe you do fishing in a Phantom!!!

Hi Taz, yeah its good to have another boat nearby, I work in Rochford, in the square.

Boat(s) have been stored at Benfleet for the past 2 years so always out around Canvey or up to Thorpe Bay using Ring and Fletcher as well as the phantom but there is never anyone else about so getting bored with that.

Bought (rescued) the Phantom last year, doin' some mods and minor repairs and I've been thinking about trying Crouch or Blackwater this year once I get a better motor to tow the boat.

What's the river like? how long do ya get either side of high tide?

Not fishing, mostly just drifting back past the slipway swearing whilst my mate larfs his nuts off.

The Ermintrude came with the boat and actually its not to bad but I have not had much to gauge it against.

Lookin to meet up with a few boat madders this year to judge it's worth.

I should fit in just fine then...

Yeah the model details behind Golden Eye are a bit confused.
The picture shows it is badged as 18EXL.

And as at the mo' I pay storage fees on a 18 footer that's fine by me...

I know, dont tell anyone

And if I keep the boat there for 104 years it will have almost paid for itself...

Hi Taz, I work at BDA, the architects above Abbotts, although not there at the mo as on site on big job in Chelmsford.

As soon as some good (or nearly good) weather comes along we'll have to get out on the water. I'll PM you my contact details and call ya as soon as boat is ready for use.

Boats going for engine service and some mod's sometime in next few weeks and the prop has gotta be re-finished as looks like the last owner took up the tarmac on his driveway with it.

Also I wanna install a bow ballast tank or do something with the bow fuel tank so that I can move fuel/weight around - any ideas- anyone?
