painting trim tabs, advice needed

All the paint has come off my trim tabs and I'm looking at repainting them. Just wondered if there is any real difference between automotive and marine outdrive paint and if anyone has any advice on painting these bare stainless tabs.

Was looking at an undercoat and top coat but any advice is welcome. Was thinking of sand blasting them to give a good keyed surface.

If they are stainless, why not shotblast them and leave them unpainted? Save doing it again later?

They will be left in the water and I think it will eat through the annodes too quickly if un-painted.

Shotblast, etch prime and paint in 2 pack. Same as I've just done to my outboards. If you want them done, just drop them to me and I'll sort it all. At £14 per hour it's not gonna cost the earth!
Personally i wouldn't bother with anything that comes out of a spray can, it'll just come straight back off again in no time, especially if not etched correctly.

For the outboards, Sigma epoxy primer underneath for decent protection, followed by 2k High build primer, 1k Base (it's metallic grey), then 2k lacquer. Had it been a plain colour it would've just been a 2k base. All U-pol automotive stuff. Top protection and finish.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know how to stop the legs / engines rotting away?

I'm just going to leave them unpainted now and apply some lanocote grease. Seems easier. Won't have to disassemble them either as all the paints virtually off. I'll just get my high pressure hose on them again to get the rest off.
