What is the biggest engine anyone has had on the back of a P16 (weight as well as power). I have heard of xr2's being fitted what is the weight of one and whats it like?

hi mate,
rob and me raced a 16 with an xr2 on windermere, good fun but an 18 with xr2 would have been faster ! (3 hours of wrestling with it was more than enough and it had seastar steering)
see you in salcombe.
derek....
p.s. 16 with 140 set up right very good.

Coniston Records week 2006 Chris Loney did an average of 85.61mph with a 16' Racedeck Phantom. I'm not sure was the engine a 2.4 or 2.5 ltr.

We put a 175 2.4 on a friends phantom 16 and it runs pretty well, doesn't like the rough much.
Put a 135 2.0 on another friends ring 15, nearly got ejected on glass flat water and the boat nearly sank at the slipway.
Still thought it was fun and wanted to do a little more set up, but it wasn't my boat.
He's looking for a 90'ish if anyone has anything.

Hi ,
i had a Shitatsu sorry Tohatsu i meant in ma P19 for OCR and good thing about it is the acceleration on them, then i moved to a Yami 130 and its faster on top end ,both engines were standard , plus most important the Yami was much a tougher engine when racing ,never had a problem with mounts ones i changed them to Nylon when i first bought it , when i had the Tohatsu it was changing bridge plate on top mounts and even manufacture different types off mounts for them to hold on atleast 2 races after Saturdays race on the rough to get it ready for sunday`s race as top mounts are tiny and practically together .
I tried it as i never owned a Tohatsu b4 and had to change it after a year and half off racing OCR, but not be the case for pleasure use .
