ring 21

i no this has nothing to do with phantom hull identification, more like ring hull identification.
i have just bought a ring 21 an old ski racing boat and am needing line drawings or something like that of this boat because we want to re-graphic the boat, i have phoned mike ring but didnt seem to want to know, so was wondering does anyone have any ideas ????

Phantom Hull Identification

The details of materials and their dimensions used in the building of wooden boats is found in Ian Proctors Specification for building wooden boats. The thickness of ply for each of the decks is 6mm and the planking of the bottom boards of the hull is 8 or 9mm.

I hope that this helps.

looking at my pahntom 21 that i have owned for +10 odd years now but been to busy with other boats and life to get it back into the water i am now taking to sorting this. looking at the transom i see no visible serial number, could it be anywhere else? this is an early boat, black hull that someone previous to me painetd the sides and deck white, the screen is bolted into place. i'm guessing it was used for racing as it has a center fuel tank, stainless bow tank and the original engine that was on it was offset to stbd, so i assume the engine on it now was put there to save re drilling holes etc? any help would be great.

if the screen is bolted on it will be a pre 1986. stick your head up under the dash and a number should also be written on the underside of the deck.

Hi Burty, thanks for the info. i stuck my head under dash but nothing jumped out, guess im gonna have to strip the thing down before i really know, i was mistaken about the bow tank, its glassed in and there is a strange deck mounting. will try and add photo's but i'm finding it difficult to upload them... it was definately all black in the beginning though with a bolt on screen.

Blimey, I inquired about that boat 10 years ago!

It was actually quite nice. I seem to remember stickers hiding original Phantom stripes and the fore-deck being quite badly crazed. Otherwise nice.
