Please define "A Hook"

Hi all, had an issue Saturday week ago and wonder why. The boat was running well, high and fast. Then at just under 70MPH she left the water and landed, as she landed she took a severe port turn, throwing me into the side and breaking 5 ribs + a punctured lung.

I was just wondering if this could have bee "A Hook" , that I've heard so much about.

Pete. PS, The Throphy prop is something else, got her out of the water, very well.

It sure sounds like a hook, firstly get well soon that is the important thing, ribs take bloody ages just when you think it's better you cough & boy does your memory come back real fast.
IMHO you really need to think on the Lifejacket, I always use a Heavy Racing jacket . The "Jordan" blow ups are fine around the dock but give you no impact protection. Good Hefty jacket is cumbersom so it's a trade between the 2 mediums.

Had same situation 4 weeks ago, but I only broke my right thumb
What I use is MotoCross protectors:

http://www.alpinestars.com/Bionic_Pr.../p/650655.html

Makes you look like ROBOCOP but thay are very comfortable and they do their job. Just wear it under your lifejacket

2nd that mike
I've used the Extreme" Enduro/MX Body Deflector in the past if not using a heavy lifejacket with flak.

Thanks for all your wishes, the lung is doing fine, just got the ribs to sort out now. Good point about the life jacket and the motorcross protector, I'll look into both possibilities. Hope to be back in the water next weekend, fingers crossed.

Cheers all
