Matt, Theres a Company in woking called Project-D who recently polished my crank, it only cost me £35 quid.
You only need the journals reground if there are deep scores otherwise you can just get the marks 'polished out' which means you dont have to use oversize bearings either. I'd definatly get them done for the little its going to cost, its not worth the risk of having to rip apart the engine again!
If you tell him Ross with the kit car gave you his number he might give you a bit of money off, he done all my machine work very cheap, does a very good job aswell, he's done all the machining on my engine.
