Removing paint without harming gelcoat

Hi all, I'm in the process of re-fitting a phantom hull and the previous owner painted a stripe over the bow which I'm trying to remove. It looks as though he didn't key the gelcoat but has used some type of cellulose paint. I was wondering if anyone knows of a suitable paint stripper which doesn't damage the gelcoat?
Thanks, Ed

You could try acetone, or autosmart do some stuff called 'Gelsolve', basically like jelly in an aerosol can, that gets almost anything off!
