Rib toobe question (banned already?)
I know I know my title probobly has the most swearing in it ever, but it gets worse. Going to look at a rib today, an the vendor advised it had PVC toobs an not rubber ones. It's a craft made by Rimini, 5.5m in length. Can anyone tell me the draw backs/ bennifits to these before I possibly buy this craft( not the obvious ones like... It's missing a deck
many thanks
chris

Have a look on Ribnet for the PVC versus Hypalon discussions, but PVC is not considered to be as good as Hypalon, having said that it all depends on the price and the use you're going to put it to?

I had a big PVC inflatable for a number of years with no issues re the PVC. In fact, when I got a hypalon rib the tubes felt very wobbly and squidgy until I got used to them. PVC does slice more easily so barnacles and other slicing textures can do a bit more damage. Although its doesn't seem to be a widely held view, I found PVC easier to glue, and I did a lot of it, so repairs are not to be feared IMHO. I might add that doing the gluing was not for repair reasons.
