Ring 18 fuel tank

hi all, where is the best place to fit a fuel tank in a ring 18, im having one made but would like some advice on what end to stick it. The boat will soon have a very nice 2.5/xr2 hanging off the back of it, if that makes any difference. There is nothing in the bow except a bag of sand.

In the centre at the back of the boat.
Mine had an 80 litre tank in it. Never filled it though. Having it at the back rather than the bow gets you a bit more lift. If you want it. Plus it means you don't have the pain in the arse of running fuel lines down the length of the boat which i would assume means running different pumps etc. Sounds like hassle to me.

My old R18 had bow mounted fuel tank. Think it was factory fit (??) but others may know differently.

No problems with pumping fuel from bow - rigged with 2.4 200 and standard diaphram pump.

Only issue for us was that the fuel tank provided ballast that couldnt be adjusted. Used to stuff quite a bit when tank was full but was more flighty when tank got empty.

Id guess that by mounting tank in stern you have option to fit a bow ballast tank and adjust according to conditions.

Our R21 has stern mounted tank

At the moment my Ring 18 has it fitted in the bow - as The Docta stated in his post, I am running with standard factor fitted fuel pump on the engine and the hose running down the full length of the boat. This has not caused a single headache during the 5 years I have had the boat

However, this winter I am shifting it to the stern so I can fit the water ballast tank in the bow. Again, for the very reason the Docta mentioned about providing an "non-adjustable" lump of ballast in the bows.
