I ran a 24" chopper on mine with a 2.4 bp. I found the laser cavitated too much.

Hi I'm buying the ring21 (voodoo) next week it's running a chopper 26/14.5 running 70gps on flat water what would it run like on some choppy water ? Would I be better off with a spare prop for better performance. Cheers

Ps. it has a gill bracket and jack plate

Hi mate not looking for more top end just want the best for both flat and a little choppy water as most people know the Solent between hayling and portmouth can get abit bouncy if the chopper is only good for flatter water I would like to have a different pitch prop just incase. Cheers !

My 21C always had the 24 chopper on it. Never really had any probs out in the Solent.

Looking forward to seeing voodoo out there!!

I've tried a 24 chopper on mine, didnt like it. Chined like a mother ****** and didnt hold in turns.

I run a blueprinted 25 laser II at 6600-6700 but slips a good bit, and doesnt cary the bow very well.

Best all round prop is a 23 Trophy, good bow lift, nice and easy to handle and holds in turns like its on rails, good response to trim. Runs about 6700-6900

John, howd it handle with a yam drag, never tried one. Didnt think it would work too well.

Admittedly the chopper I tried was a bit rough, but I've heard a lot of people say the chopper works well. Might get it cleaned up and try again before I discount it completely. It was the prop that came with the boat too.

I have been surprised by how well my Ring runs with a 25" Tempest Plus. I might have it worked over the winter but although the top end may not be quite that of the chopper it handles very well.

We'll all be out if the weather is good!

My ring 21c has now gone to a good home in Germany.

Has anyone tried a Merc Fury prop on a R21? They don't come up second hand very often because they're still a bit new but in comparison tests they seem to be a little bit better in all aspects than the Tempest.
